I’m Thankful.
I’m thankful for everything. I’m thankful for a world that always brings sorrow and joy, and bitterness and bliss. Thankful for the friends who have lifted me up and let me down.The ones who straightened me out and let me fail. They are my heart. They are my life. I am thankful for my mother who stands up to the universe. For my father who shows me how we can be fragile and strong all at once. I am thankful for lovers who have come and gone. Giving me food for my soul, and memories for my body. I am thankful for my country, my countrymen, and the earth beneath my feet. I am thankful for this mysterious process called living, and I’m thankful that I don’t wonder about it every second. I am thankful for every breath. For breathing deeply and feeling the life that pounds through my veins. I am thankful for those who have more than me and regretful for those who don’t have as much; I wish it were different. I’m thankful for the stars at night. For the sun in the morning. And for the dreams that make me want to try harder. I’m thankful for the lessons in this life that pour through my hands as if I’m holding water; always making room for more. I’m thankful for the almighty God; the wondrous Goddesses and for the angels and the wishes and the prayers which are always answered whether I know it or not. I’m thankful for all that I am and all that I will become. I’m thankful for every moment that I am here, drinking in the bounty of this endless love; the love that reaches into me and holds me up. The love I give that was never mine to keep. Oh, this tiny world. This pained yet glorious place we all call home. May we all find what we are seeking, and may heaven truly be a gathering place for forgiveness and new beginnings. Keeptrying. Keep going, at all costs, never stop.
